The Wine Warriors Come Out to Play in Traverse City, Michigan

You won't find The Baseball Furies in the wine country surrounding Traverse City, Michigan, but you will find a fury of drama. Michigan Live introduces us to Gerry Vendittelli, who is hoping to bring a show called "Wine Warriors", capturing the events surrounding owning and running a winery, to a TV screen near you. Detailing the stories of wineries on the Old Mission and Leelanau Peninsulas, Wine Warriors shows owners and employees dealing with everything from running out of cherry wine to broken equipment to whitefish emergencies to wine-spewing kegs to trying to sell a skeptical sommelier some Gruner Veltliner.

Larry Mawby of the eponymously named L. Mawby Vineyards, explains the appeal of the show. "For many viewers, it would be 'I had no idea they grew grapes in Michigan.' For people who do, it'd be, 'Isn't it great that others are finding out about it?'"
