Dinastía Vivanco 4 Varietales 2009

Vivanco makes wines in several different styles and use traditional grapes and age statements on many of their wines. This bold, dark modern-styled cuvee is a blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha and Mazuelo and is immensely drinkable.

Each of the varieties was hand harvested separately into small 10 kg crates. On entering the winery, the crates were refrigerated in the winery’s cooling chambers to reduce the temperature of the grapes to 3 Co. After cooling, double selection on sorting table occurred with a gentle destemming and pressing, leaving the grapes almost intact. Separate fermentation for each of the varieties in French oak vats, flled by gravity and without the use of pumps. Cold maceration and fermentation using natural yeasts: 24 days for the Tempranillo, 20 for the Graciano, 26 for the Garnacha and 21 for the Mazuelo. The malolactic fermentation of each variety took place in new French oak barrels that were gravity flled.

Maturation: 24 months in new French oak barrels from different coopers, using various sources of oak and toast levels. Each wine remained on its lees throughout with occasional bâtonagge but without racking. The fnal blend was then put together and bottled without fning or fltration, so small natural deposits can appear in the bottle.

Tasting Note: Deep garnet colour. Powerful and complex aromas of ripe red and black fruit, foral notes, graphite, toffee, chocolate, and a well integrated oak infuence. The taste is fresh, intense and expressive, with soft tannins and a long fnish with lots of smooth, ripe fruit.
