Fattoria Lucignano Chianti 2013

Fattoria Lucignano Chianti 2013

This subzone of Chianti is called Fiorentini because of its proximity to Florence. However the estate's vineyards are just a few hundred feet from becoming Chianti Classico. The estate is run by widow Countess Antonella Guicciardini with a traditional and classic approach. The wine is made and aged in cement tanks - very old school! With no oak to speak of, this Chianti is smooth and tastes of black cherry, coffee and roasted nuts with fruit cradled by new saddle leather.
