"50% Vermentino/50% Trebbiano Toscano/Grechetto/Malvasia. 2017 is the first vintage of this wine, named for proprietor Margherita Padovani's "girls" (who also did the label art). The fruit is from old vines in the Mt. Amiata zone not far from Montalcino, where Fonterenza harvests fruit grown by an organic farmer friend who doesn't make wine. The fruit was harvested by hand, destemmed, gently presssed and fermented in open plastic vats. The Vermentino was vinified separately and macerated for 8 days, while the other three varieties were co-fermented and macerated for 14 days (the impact of the maceration is gentle in terms of color and phenolics). The two young wines spent a couple of months in tank and were then blended and aged as one, for 10 months in one 5-hectoliter tonneau and one 2-hectoliter terracotta vessel. It was bottled unfiltered and yielded only 933 bottles." -Bowler Wine
