2011 was a cool vintage that provided the ideal growing conditions for reaching full flavor maturity at a low sugar (brix) level and while maintaining a bright acidity. Although the latter part of the 2011 vintage was cool and wet, our Chardonnay was picked well in advance of the Autumn rains and was exceptionally clean and flavorful. The source of our Chardonnay grapes is the famed Bacigalupi Vineyard, just outside of Healdsburg in Sonoma County, which also provided the grapes for the 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay that scored highest in the famed “Judgement of Paris” blind tasting between French and American wines in 1976. The 2011 Curvature offering displays lovely aromas of pear, hazelnut, and green apple, an elegant body and a lively acidity in the finish. It will pair with fish or pasta dishes, or could provide a delightful surprise if paired with a cheese course at the end of a meal. The wine is ready to drink upon release. Case Size 12
