Wine, Liquor, or Beer? What Men and Women Choose Most Often

A recent Gallup poll shows that when adults are given the choice between wine, liquor, or beer, the latter remains on top. Beer is the choice of 41 percent of Americans over 21, with wine coming in second at 31 percent, and liquor bringing up the rear at 23%.

What's most interesting about this poll is how big the gap is between men and women when it comes to wine as the preferred alcoholic beverage. While only 17 percent of men reach for fermented grape juice, 46 percent of women are looking first for a corkscrew.

Why is there such a gender gap when it comes to wine?
