Cleveland Wine Bar Accepts Digital Bitcoin as Payment

You don't need cash to enjoy Chianti or a debit card for Dolcetto anymore. A Cleveland, OH wine bar, The Wine Spot, is accepting payment via bitcoin, as cleveland.com reports. What is bitcoin you may ask? (Full disclosure: I had to look it up.) From bitcoin.org:

"Bitcoin is a consensus network that enables a new payment system and a completely digital money. It is the first decentralized peer-to-peer payment network that is powered by its users with no central authority or middlemen. From a user perspective, Bitcoin is pretty much like cash for the Internet. Bitcoin can also be seen as the most prominent triple entry bookkeeping system in existence."

I know I'm a lot more interested in bitcoin now that I know there's a place where I can use them to buy wine, that's for sure. As The Wine Spot's owner, Adam Fleischer, explains, "“Bitcoin provides my customers the flexibility of another form of payment, and those investing in Bitcoin are searching for places to spend it."

Have you bought anything using bitcoin, and would you be apt to check out a business if they accepted this form of payment?
