Positive Impacts of Global Warming on Champagne?

Amidst the doom and gloom over global warming and climate change, it's interesting to hear someone actually mention some benefits for a grape-growing region over the last two decades, specifically Champagne. Speaking to Harpers Wine & Spirit, Dominique Garréta, Tattinger's Director of Communications, states, "The impact of global warming has, for the time being, been considerably positive for the Champagne region with, in the last 20 years, a significant increase in yields along with an increase in the grapes sugar content." Though Garréta tempers that short-term enthusiasm with comments about the concurent development of issues regarding hail, erosion, and irrigation.
