UK Sparkling Wine Producer Looks to Produce One Million Bottles A Year By 2020

Look out, Champagne! The UK sparkling wine industry just got a lot bigger with the opening of Rathfinny Estate. Located in the hotbed of British sparkling wine production, South Downs, and just three miles away from the white, chalky ocean cliffs, this upstart hopes to have its first bottles of sparkling wine on the market by 2017. And they're not looking to move a few cases here and there. The Drinks Business reports their production goal, which they hope to achieve by 2020, is a robust one million bottles.

Rathfinny Estate has not only set the production bar high, but the quality as well. Co-Owner Sarah Driver stated, “We are at the beginning of this fantastic journey where we hope to witness Sussex sparkling wine become as well known and globally respected as the likes of Champagne is today."
